Photo one: Paper pieced baskets from Quiltmaker magazine, set with pink sashing. This hung unfinished on my wall for a year and I decided I didn't like it. So I tore it apart, and reset it .

Photo two: Same blocks new setting. Much more to my liking. Ready to be quilted!

Wow, what a difference! It went from nice, but plain, to WOW!!!!! I wish I had that kind of creativity. I follow patterns well, but have a hard time thinking outside the box. Thanks for sharing!!

The first was okay, but the second one is fantastic! I love the off centre setting and the way you have done it really encourages you to look more closely at it. Great job :-)

The extra work was well worth the effort. Now you'll be able to finish that quilt without regret. Great basket blocks!

Super job Rebecca. More and more these days I'm drawn to the quilts where something different is happening than the standard sashing and cornerstones. A wonderful way to finish this quilt. Aren't you glad you took the time to fix it?

You really made it better! I admire you for having the dedication to take it all apart instead of just letting it go.

The second one definitely looks better. Nice job. My Mom made this quilt too and is hand quilting it now. It's interesting to see different versions.

Wow!! Such a lot of work to un-sew it from the pink sashing, but it sure was worth it. Just beautiful with the scrappy lattice..*VBS*

I prefer the new setting too & remember those blocks in the magazine. I would never have taken them apart, but I am glad that you did - much improved...
