It seems that I have been so busy this last few weeks. Today the kids and I made Halloween treats for school. We had the challenging job of making healthy treats, we made Bugs on a Log and Spiders on Carrots. I figured with some gross names the kids would like to eat them. But I am sure they will go straight for the cookies. (Can't get the photo to load)

It snowed here a week ago for the first time this winter. We got about 8 inches and I really hope it sticks. The weather here has been much nicer than what I hear from elsewhere, just getting colder. Last night it was 8 degrees.

I am happy to report that this half of the 1000 Pyramids is all quilted. I am handquilting inside of all the light triangles with dark blue thread. I am now sewing the rows for the other half together. I have 9 rows complete, so I will be piecing more triangles!!! I have really enjoyed working on this project, I think I started it in January 2006. I doubt I will have it done in less than a year, though. Sometimes it is nice to have a long term project, and this one does not require a lot of thinking with the quilting. I sit on the couch and quilt, watching Mad About You dvd's with DH.

So these are the new placemats for my brother. He gave a set away that I made for him, using the Cotton Theory, to some girl he dated for awile. I made two just to try out the pattern, and see how the colors would go together. I am using a print with many animals on it for the focus squares. I think the moose is kind of off center, but not enough to start over. Since they are for a single guy, I chose dark colors.

Do you ever get sick of your neighbors? Like, why can't they just mind their own business? I don't complain about my neighbors to the landlord, I just think live and let live. Vent, vent, vent!!!

I'm sorry to have kept you all in suspense about this quilt top. I have been unable to post because of the flooding. We had a lot of rain and the road was washed out along with the fiber optics cable. We are now on a spliced fiber optics cable thru another city, way north of here.
Ok, so here it is....
This is from the book "40 Fabulous Quick-Cut Quilts" by Evelyn Sloppy. It is on page 64 and is called Fall Frolic. I guess mine should be Spring Fling! It is 72x88. I changed the yellow border, the first yellow was just too washed out. The yellow stripe really brings out the yellow in the border fabric. This is such a bright happy quilt!

Sewing Day!

Woo-hoo! I get a sewing day! No meetings or things planned, only take the kids to school and home. Oh, yeah, fix dinner and help kiddos with homework. Anyway....So what do I work on? Hmmm. Well, first I went to see my friend, Lori, from the quilt shop. I have really missed her. I just dropped by her house and we had coffee and a very nice visit.

So here are the colors I'm working with today ...

And here are my beautiful odds and ends in the trash. The cutting is finished...Pedal to the metal!!!

OOOOOOOooooooooo! What will it be?
