Do you know what it is like outside at 42 below zero? Me neither. I am NOT going outside today! :) I do know that it is miserable.

My parents and grandma came to my house for thanksgiving. We had a great time. In the evening my mom asked for a quilt show. I said it would take awhile as she wanted to see everything I have from the last ten years! These are her favorites:

She asks what are you going to do with all these quilts? The truth is I love most of them, and just want to fondle them and remember making them. I want them. There are some I would give away or sell, but some I just want to keep. I like to show her my quilts but then I feel bad that I want to keep them. Or that I have so many. I do other things besides make quilts, but when showing them it seems that sewing is all I do. I dont have AWANA meetings to show off, or all the games of hide and seek with the kiddos.

The moose and her babies are still hanging around. It is driving my poor dog crazy. It has been -30F for the last couple of weeks, too cold to snow. I am working on the wool quilts (see previous post). Really nothing of note going on here.

I work for a lady who was disabled in a car accident that also took the life of her husband. She asked me this week if I would take his wool shirts and make some couch throws for her three daughters. She gave me $500 as a down payment! There are 19 shirts and I can cut about 30 6 1/2 inch squares from each shirt. I figure about 120 squares for each throw, flannel backing, and see what she wants me to do with the rest, probably quilts for the grandkids. WOW! I'm getting paid to do what I love to do!!! My dog was barking barking barking this morning. It was driving me crazy! When it got light outside, I could see who was in my backyard!!
