A couple years ago I was in a batik friendship star swap. There were no rules on colors or combinations. I decided to pull them out the other day and made this top. It is 60x72. There is a small green sticky outy border like piece of fabric and then the outer pink/purple batik. I had a discussion once with a friend if there was a way to attach the sticky outy thingy to the quilt top and have it fold out toward the border. Because if it is used with blocks like this when it folds in toward the top, parts of the blocks would be cut off. Anyway, we came up with the only way to do it was to sew it to the border and then miter the corners. I like the effect of the green here, it stops the pattern from running into the border.

I would like to make a crazy quilt. Is there a place to buy all the embellishments without having to buy ten yards of ribbon?

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

My newest project! This is called Carnival Blooms from the Quilters Home website a while ago. I don't know if it is still there. I have reduced the size a bit to about 30x30 from 54x54. I have all the pieces appliqued down, and now I will work on thread embellishment, buttons, sequins and beads. Also some background quilting, probably with filament thread, the fabrics are busy.

Some thread pulling in the cross stitch! Aaargh!
