We have started making an Advent Calendar. I got the pattern and idea here http://sunshinescreations.vintagethreads.com/

It is just so cute.
And here is an update on my cross stitch project.

My mom asked for a baby quilt for the daughter of a friend. I made this one up for her. The baby will be a boy. The hardest part of this was finding all the novelty fabric. Not that it was really all that hard. With so much fabric, there are bound to be little prints of things. A lot of the pieces came from nickel swaps anyway, which I guess are just for this purpose. The binding is a fabric that looks like rocks. The backing is the same green with one line of novelty squares.

I have been making some blocks for a swap. These present blocks are from EQ6, 10 1/2 inches. They are fun to do up, easy machine applique. I have used a lot of decorative stitches. I have 9 of 12 made.

I messed up so bad on this cross stitch, I had to start over. So here is Christmas Sampler #2. I have done so much better this time. The colors are really nice. It will probably take me a long time to finish!
I have been sewing but not doing much finishing. I am making a quilt for my dh, and the top is done, but the back is not. I don't have any pieces of fabric big enough for it, so I decided to piece a back. But since I had to do it, I decided to make the quilt reversible. The quilt is all browns, like a cup of coffee, all different amounts of cream. The quilt will be about queen size with a fat poly batt, tied, to make it more of a comforter.
I have also set up a sewing morning with a friend. So for the last month, we have met on Tuesday morning at her house, and sewed from 9 until 12+. She is making a nine patch with sashing and corner squares. I have been working on all kinds of projects. We have been having a great time.

This is my new little dog, Maggie. She was given to us because her owner died and no one in the family wanted her. She is just so sweet. She is house trained, crate trained, non barker, non chewer, kid lover, calm, playes fetch and is sooooo cute! However, she is a licker and if you don't stop her, she will just continue to lick you until your skin comes off. We just love her.

I was tagged a long time ago and just now have the time to write.

Seven things about myself. Secret things? Weird things? Well known things? Well, anyway, here goes.

1. I am a pastor's wife. He is the pastor of Nenana Community Church.

2. I have more fabric than I have room for. But I love every piece of it.

3. I love to do the puzzles in the newspaper. The word jumble, the cryptogram, the crossword, the sudoku.

4. Coffee, coffee, coffee.

5. I HATE to do dishes.

6. I am a snail mail fanatic. I just love it. Sometimes I check my post office box twice a day.

7. I like cheddar cheese and mayonnaise on graham crackers.
