I am on vacation, so my diet update is "No Update". I will return home on Jan. 28 and will weigh then. Vacation is oh so hard to stay on a diet, and oh so hard to get some exercise. But I took my kids to an indoor water park for three hours and did some water walking and water aerobics. That should at least cover the McFlurry I ate before we went swimming!

I walked eight miles this week. That is 64 times around the school!
I started out the week very disappointed and discouraged at the lack of weight loss. However, after being right on target this week, not overeating or eating too much of the unhealthy foods, I saw a 3 pound loss!

I went quilting with my friend Harriet today and finished three more blocks and set them together. The quilt will be 4 blocks across and five blocks
down with a floral print border. I will put the sashing strips on all four sides when the blocks are all together. If you make the blocks with built in sashing, you don't have so many long seams.

You are seeing correctly, that reading is 41 degrees ABOVE zero. Our snow is melting, the roofs are all dripping. You remember that a few days ago it was -50? That is 90 degrees difference! What's up with this wacky weather anyway??!!
Do you see the grunge on my plate? It is from the high iron content in the water, my bathtub looks just like it. I have been trying to get it off for about as long as we've lived here, but nothing was working. I found this Miracle Eraser under the sink the other day and decided to try it. Wow, it worked great! Can you see the difference when I clean one half? And see the goo on the eraser? Ewwww! Now to do the rest of set!

This week was my birthday! My dh baked me a cake that was healthy and delicious!
But he also took me out to eat at my choice of a restaurant. We went to an all day breakfast place and I pigged out! So that was my bad weekend stunt.
But I lost almost a pound! Down .8
I have started walking again. I walk at the school in the evenings with some friends, eight times around the school is a mile. It is too cold and icy to walk outside now, but I do walk outside as soon as it is nice enough. Walking two miles is a lot easier with friends to talk to.

My husband, Bill, and I have been losing weight this last year. Here are beginning 2008 and beginning 2009 photos of each of us. Bill has lost about 80 pounds and I have lost 20. I hope to lose 41 pounds in 2009, then I would weigh about what I weighed at 20 years old.
