The brownish material came with the kit and I put it on, hoping it would look better than I imagined it would.  It didn't.  I put on an almost solid black and I think it is ok now.  It will look smashing when I have it quilted.

the dark border is wonderful... sometimes when you look at what was included in a kit you just have to shake your head and wonder who had their rose coloured glasses on when choosing the fabric colours. ;-)

Your wall hanging turned out great! I really do like the black background and border much better... what were they thinking using the brown? Not so much!

Oh, the black is SO much better.....good that you decided to make that change. This is a VERY pretty piece....I love how it turned out so far.
